JAMMU, July 8: Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) flayed both the Central and J&K Governments for allegedly mishandling various constitutional issues pertaining to SCs, STs and OBCs like reservation in education and employments.
Addressing a press conference here today Prof. G.L Thapa, working president of JKRCEA claimed that NC government under Omar Abdullah constituted a Cabinet Subcommittee (CSC) to take a holistic view of reservation by reviewing past actions, including recent Supreme Court directions.
He said that it was surprising for SCs, STs and OBCs that the CSC presented its draft report to Cabinet of Ministers on June 19, 2025 without taking into account the views of SCs, STs and OBCs of J&K.
Sham Basson demanded clear stand of NC leadership on the issue of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs including reservation in promotions.
