JAMMU, June 16: Jammu and Kashmir Retired Accounts Personnel Welfare Forum (JKRAPWF) has voiced serious concern over reports that the Government of India is considering exclusion of retired employees from the benefits of the proposed 8th Pay Commission (PC).
In a statement issued today, the Forum emphasized that while retirees may have stepped down from active service, they remain committed to fighting for their rights. “We have not retired from the struggle. We are vigilant and ready to adopt all democratic and peaceful means to safeguard the rights of senior citizens and pensioners,” a spokesperson of the Forum said.
Highlighting the recent passage of the Finance Bill in Parliament, the Forum termed it a matter of serious concern for the pensioner community across the country. In response, the Forum convened an extraordinary meeting of its core group and resolved to extend full support to the nationwide protest call given by the All India State Pensioners Federation (AISPF).
As part of this nationwide campaign, pensioners across India will submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister through their respective Deputy Commissioners on June 23, 2025. JKRAPWF, also known as the Jammu Kashmir Accounts ICON Group, has announced it will participate in the program by submitting its memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar on the same date.
