JKPSC Lecturers Association meets Chief Secretary, discusses demands

JAMMU, Jan 7: A delegation of JKPSC Lecturers Association met Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, in his office chamber and discussed the long-pending issue of Career Progression of +2 Lecturers.
The delegation comprised of Manjit Chib (President, Jammu Province), Rishi Manhas (Vice-President), Mansoor Ahmed Khan (President, Kashmir Province), Sunil Kumar, Sachin Sharma, Dr Nazim Hussain Mir, Jhon Mohammad Bhat, Dr Arshid Salroo, Irshad Ahmad Bhat, Mohsin Gul Khan, and Wahid Ahmad.
During the interaction, the delegation reminded the Chief Secretary that the issue had already been taken up with him earlier. The Chief Secretary informed that the committee constituted for this purpose has completed several rounds of deliberations and that the concerned file is presently with Shaleen Kabra, Financial Commissioner JK UT for further necessary action. Emphasizing the urgency of the matter, the delegation sought early resolution, to which the Chief Secretary assured timely and effective follow-up.
The delegation also met the Additional Secretary, School Education Department, Ashok Choudhary, and took up the long-pending issue of the Recruitment Rules. It was informed that although the Recruitment Rules were last revised in 2010 and were due for revision after ten years, the process could not be completed in time. A committee for revising the Recruitment Rules was constituted in 2022, and considerable work has since been undertaken; however, the final report is yet to be implemented.
The delegation urged the authorities to expedite all pending processes and ensure early resolution of issues related to career progression and service benefits of +2 Lecturers in the interest of justice and administrative efficiency.
