JKPSA condemns Govt order on fee structure

JAMMU, Apr 6: In its meeting held here today in the premises of Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, J&K Private Schools Association (JKPSA) condemned Government Order No 98 Edu of 2016 dated 24-03-2016 regarding regulation of fee structure of private un-aided institutions.
A number of heads of private schools from all the districts of Jammu province and executive members of the Central body participated in the meeting, during which they unanimously condemned the order, alleging that the Government has issued the order on flimsy grounds and misinterpretations of certain judicial dictums.
The members said that the unwarranted attitude of the State Government by bringing them within the ambit of all commercial and labour laws and not providing even loan facilities for upgrading their infrastructures will not be tolerated.
President of the Association, Kamal Gupta, said that the double standards in treating the State Board affiliated and CBSE/ICSE cannot be tolerated, as the State Board affiliated/recognized schools are doing a poise job by catering quality education to lower middle, peasantry class at far flung areas by charging a small amount while their counterparts are charging exorbitant amounts since decades from the parents on one pretext or the other while the axe always falls on low budget schools the reason best known to the Government.
Ajay Gupta, general secretary of the association, while speaking on the occasion declared that on April 9 at 11 am all stakeholders will present a memorandum at their respective district headquarters to the District Development Commissioners to mark protest against the policies of the State Government. The Kashmir Province unit will also follow the same, he added.
