JAMMU, Nov 13: The aspirants of J&K Police (JKP) Sub Inspectors (SIs) have appealed the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to give age relaxation of minimum 5 years to them.
“According to the recruitment rule number 2 of 2005, the vacant posts should be referred to recruitment agencies twice a year so that the aspirants could get the opportunities to face the examination every year but the J&K administration failed to do so. The last recruitment for SI was held in 2016 and now it has been advertised after a gap of 5 years,” the aspirants said.
They said in view of this, the age relaxation of minimum 5 years should be granted to JKP SI aspirants so that those who are over aged and have passion to join the police the force, could get one last opportunity to participate in the exam. They said as per CMIE report, J&K has 21.6 % unemployment rate, which is worst among states and UTs in India. “Also there is lack of private sector jobs in J&K, so the LG is requested to increase the age relaxation to minimum 5 years keeping in mind all the circumstances,” they added.
The aspirants said the Government has granted one time age relaxation to the aspirants of JKPSC, thereby enhancing the age from 32 to 37 years. “Even, the age limit of ex-servicemen is given as 40 years which means they are considered as physically fit in their 40s, therefore, the aspirants of JKP SI should also be considered as physically fit and hence, should given this one last opportunity to serve the nation,” they pleaded.
