JKP Havildar dies, five injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Mar 18: A Havildar of J&K Police died while five persons were injured in three separate road accidents in the district today.
Reports said that a JKP Havildar, identified as Rashpal Chand, son of Devi Chand of Basht Chenani, presently posted at DPL Udhampur, died when a truck carrying him rolled down in a deep gorge near village Darssu, here this morning. Rashpal Chand died on the spot while driver of the truck, identified as Madan Lal son of Babu Ram of Basht Chenani, sustained serious injuries and was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
The truck, bearing registration number PB06-2277, was on way from Manwal to Udhampur.
In a similar accident, one person was injured when a truck bearing number PB7R-0473 slipped into Dudder nullah while on way from Kathua to Srinagar. The injured, identified as Balwinder Singh, son of Karnail Singh of   Dassua, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, who was helper with the truck, has been shifted to hospital and his condition was stated to be stable.
In another road mishap, three persons were injured when a Santro car collided with a Tavera at Pul Maddha near Chenani. The injured were identified as Mohd Yakoob, son of Akbar Ali of Chanderkot, Nazir, son of Aziz Joo of Ramban and Farooq Ahmad Wani, son of Abib Ullah of Banihal.
Police have registered the cases for further investigations
