JAMMU, Apr 22: Jammu Kashmir National United Front (JKNUF) working president, Rakesh Handoo has expressed serious concern over the plight of PM Package employees working in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, today Handoo said that these employees are facing multiple problems and the security issue is the main concern.
Handoo expressed deep concern over the safety and security of these employees — both non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits and other migrant Pandit employees — who continue to live in rented accommodations, exposed to threats and vulnerabilities due to the lack of secure housing.
There are many KP migrant employees working under non PM Package. They are also working in Kashmir under tough & challenging conditions. They should also be considered for accommodations in transit camps for security reasons.
Handoo has strongly urged the administration to show empathy and foresight by accommodating these employees in the transit accommodations spread across the Valley. He emphasized that such a step is not just a logistical necessity but a moral obligation — a move that would instill a much-needed sense of safety, belonging, and dignity in those who have chosen to serve in the region despite challenges.
