JAMMU, Nov 3: J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today held a protest at Transport Nagar, demanding Governor SP Malik to complete tourism and other development projects in Jammu at the earliest.
The protest was led by Neeraj Gupta, Zonal president Jammu of JKNPP, who along with his supporters and party workers raised slogans against the Government for its failure to complete the development works like Gandola project, Artificial Water Lake etc.
He said that out of two Fly Over projects, one on Shukantla Crossing Rehari Chungi Ambphalla worth Rs 30 crore which was approved and sanctioned by the State Government during 2007, to ease traffic load on this stretch was dropped merely on the ground that the State declined to bear the cost of land compensation to the people whose land was to be acquired for this project.
“The development projects like Gandola and Tawi Lake projects are still incomplete”, he said and demanded immediate measures to be taken by the Government so that these much awaited projects should be completed at the earliest.
