JKMEF, sister organizations discuss burning issues of health employees

JAMMU, May 23: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) along with its sister organizations convened an important meeting today at the Federation office to discuss burning issues of Health employees.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of JKMEF president Sushil Sudan, thoroughly discussed the Health employees’ longstanding grievances viz. regular salary of FMPHW of 2211 Head from the State Budget, timely conducting of DPC of all categories and release of pending GP Fund of employees.
Other issues such as creation of Senior Pharmacist Post in all NTPHCs, creation of Junior Ophthalmic Tech post at all PHCs, defreezing and filling up of vacant post of all categories, re-designating the post of Pharmacist as Pharmacy Officer on the analogy of other states, early payment of gratuity to all retirees and payment of pending Covid-19 incentives to the Health employees, were also deliberated upon.
Representatives from various health employee associations participated and voiced their concerns regarding matters like pay anomalies, promotion backlogs, inadequate workforce, lack of infrastructure and equipment at several facilities.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on formulating a plan of action incorporating suggestions from all stakeholders and soon submitting formal representations to the concerned authorities, urging them to take prompt measures that uplift the morale and working conditions of the healthcare staff serving the people of J&K with dedication.
Prafulat Singh (general secretary), Bharat Bhushan Bhagat (president, Pharmacist Association), Onkar Singh (president, Ophthalmic Tech), Jasvinder Singh (president, OT Tech), Aslam (president, Lab Tech) and many others spoke on the occasion.
