JAMMU, Nov 18: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), led by its president Jaswinder Singh, has urged the Government to immediately release the long-pending salaries of Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) and other employees working under Major Head 2211 (Family Welfare).
Singh made the appeal while addressing a press conference here today, expressing deep concern over what he described as the “limping attitude” of the administration in resolving the prolonged issue.
The JKMEF president recalled that the State Administrative Council had, vide decision number 63/05/2004, approved the regular salary of employees under the 2211 Head. This was further reinforced by Government order number 206 of 2024 dated 20-06-2024, issued for regularization of salaries under Major Head 2211 Family Welfare (CSS).
Despite these decisions, Singh said, the employees continue to face salary delays, causing hardship to hundreds of workers who have been rendering essential services in the health sector. He further pointed out that the Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, had issued order number 460-HME of 2024 dated 10-07-2024, through which funds were released for pending salaries and their regularization under the 2211 Head. However, he said the situation on the ground remains unchanged as employees are still awaiting their dues.
The JKMEF strongly appealed to the administration to take immediate steps to resolve the “long-standing” crisis and ensure timely disbursement of salaries to Family Welfare employees working under the CSS component of the 2211 Head. The federation said the delay is unjustified, particularly when formal orders and financial approvals have already been issued.
JKMEF chairman Sushil Sudan, Anita Bhagat, Sudershan Devi, Arti Devi, Sunita Devi, Parfulat Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, R P Singh, Dheeraj Sharma, Bahadur Singh, Ashwani Gupta and Kulwant Singh were also present on the occasion.
