JAMMU, Dec 12: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) under the presidium of Sushil Soodan met Minister of State (MoS) for Health, Asiea Naqash, to apprise her about the demands of health employees.
During the meeting, the deputation raised their issues and demands and have elaborated discussion on each issue with the MoS. The main issues highlighted by the deputation include filling up of vacant posts in Health and Family Welfare Department strictly as per seniority and creation of posts of District Pharmacy Officers and Block Pharmacy Officers besides Section Officers in all the CMO offices and posts of Head Assistants at Block level, upgradation of the posts of Pharmacists as Senior Pharmacist, Sup Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, Block Pharmacy Officers and District Pharmacy Officer and enhancement of FTA of field staff (Malaria/Leprosy) from Rs 45 to Rs 1000 per month.
The Federation also demanded risk allowance for all non-gazetted employees of Health Department, regularization of employees engaged under NHM/NCD/HDF, besides enhancement of their remuneration, amendment of SRO 20 dated February 24, 1992, removal of pay anomalies in the pay scale of ministerial staff and other categories and clearance of DPC at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of Executive Order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (Recruitment Rules) is modified.
Other demands projected by the deputation were promotion of Female Multipurpose Health Workers who are trained LHVs in new OHCs besides fixation of their 50% quota for promotion as Health Educators, creation of posts of Ophthalmic Technicians at PHC levels in all Blocks, creation of posts of Technical Officer in SHTO Workshop and removal of pay anomalies in pay scale of Drivers, enhancement of risk allowance in favour of X-Ray Tech @ Rs 5% of the basic pay in place of Rs 150, enhancement of pay scale of Junior Staff Nurses from 4000-6000 to 5000-8000 (pre revised), etc.
