JAMMU, Sept 28: A meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) was held today at the Federation office in the DHS complex, Jammu, under the chairmanship of president Jaswinder Singh, to discuss the issue of pending salaries of National Health Mission (NHM) employees.
Chairman of JKMEF, Sushil Sudan, strongly condemned the indifferent attitude of the concerned authorities over the inordinate delay in releasing salaries, which have been pending for the past three months. He said that NHM employees are facing severe hardships, unable to manage daily household needs, pay school fees of their children, or prepare for upcoming festivals such as Dussehra and Diwali.
The Federation urged the Government to immediately release the pending salaries so that employees can celebrate festivals with dignity. Sudan warned that continued neglect would further demoralize the health workers who play a crucial role in public service delivery.
Among those who addressed the meeting were Bahadur Singh, Anita Bhagat, Dheeraj Sharma, Parfulat Singh, Sunil Chouhan, Mukhtiar Kohli and Mohd Nadeem.
