JAMMU, Feb 16: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion (MF&FI) Department of J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with NABARD organized Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes (D-FLAPs) at village Jadd of tehsil Jourian and village Khara of tehsil Khara in district Jammu.
Vipan Gupta, senior Manager, MF&FI Department, JKGB, made the people aware about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. He enlightened people and students about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, RuPay debit card, KCC RuPay debit card, net banking, mobile banking services, etc.
He also stressed upon the PMSBY and PMJJBY death claims process. He stressed upon the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions that shall not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait times in the bank but shall give boost to direct revenues of the Government in the shape of tax collections utilized for development of villages.
Sachin Dev Singh, Branch Head, Maira, threw light on various facilities of the bank. He impressed upon the public to learn and use cashless modes of payment. He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man from availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly. Apart from this, Rupay debit cards were also distributed to the customers.
Representatives of Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry also attended the programme. At least 200 women were present, besides Sarpanchs, Panches and other dignitaries of the villages.
Rakesh Koul, Branch Head, Jourian, addressed the gathering and detailed them regarding the schemes of the bank. Car, Tractor, JLG and KCC loans of Rs 30 lakh were also disbursed during the programme. He also threw light on social security schemes including APY, PMJJBY and PMSBY.
