JAMMU, Feb 27: To remember Martyr Chander Shekhar Azad, the J&K Freedom Fighters Association held a function on his death anniversary at Dogra Shaurya Sthal Ambphalla, here today.
The function was organized by Ved Gandhotra and former JMC Commissioner, Kiran Wattal was the chief guest on the occasion. Floral tributes were paid with showers of petals on his photograph, by all the members and the children of Luthra Academy among chanting of National Anthem. Two- minute silence was observed in the honour of the great freedom fighter and candles were also lit.
The members highlighted the bravery of national hero Chander Shekhar Azad, who also turned the meaning of the freedom struggle. Chander Shekhar laid his life, while fighting the British Police.
The members also remembered Netaji Subash Chander Bose, S. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru, Maharani Laxmi Bai, Mangal Pandey, Hav Abdul Hameed and all those known and un-known freedom fighters who scarified everything to the Nation.
The members appealed the leaders of today, the Govt servants, the bureaucrats to work with honesty, zeal, so that the dreams of the martyrs of prosperous and happy India may be made true.
The prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were Rajiv Mahajan, Ram Rattan Raina, JJ Singh, Brij Mehra and Karnail Chand.
