JAMMU, Feb 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC) today strongly projected the burning issues of the Government employees.
Addressing a press confgerence here today Chairman of the JKEJCC, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, expressed that an important meeting of JKEJCC was held in Jammu on February 10. The meeting focused on making the organization more active and effective, and key positions were assigned to senior trade union leaders from the Jammu province. He disclosed that Vinod Sharma was appointed as the general secretary of JKEJCC, Jamiat Ali Agha Provincial president, Jammu, Naresh Kumar as Media In-charge while PD Singh as the Provincial secretary for Jammu.
While addressing media at the Press Club, Jammu Aijaz Ahmad Khan, stated that government employees are the backbone of any administration. However, unfortunately, in Jammu & Kashmir, employees have to resort to protests even for securing their legitimate rights. He emphasized that JKEJCC does not seek confrontation with anyone but is committed to raising its voice solely for legal and constitutional rights.
JKEJCC leader strongly urged the Government to ensure the timely release of GP Fund bills for employees, restore SRO 43 in its original form, increase Medical Allowance (MA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA), reinstate all government employees under the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), regularize all temporary employees, including FPS workers and other laborers, clear pending dues of retired employees, amend the inter-district recruitment rules to include a transfer clause, carry out the reorganization of all government departments, regularize employees working under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes to ensure economic stability, either regularize Anganwadi and ASHA workers or bring them under the Minimum Wage Act, provide leave salary benefits to teachers upon retirement, formulate a permanent employment policy for Seasonal Teachers and disburse border allowance for employees posted in border areas as per the 7th Pay Commission.
He further demanded to establish Departmental Promotion Committees to expedite promotion processes, regularize Aayas, Cook-cum-Helpers, and CPWs working in the Education Department, address the salary disparities of employees working in various departments, including the Police Department, revise the grade pay of Class IV/ MTS employees and rehabilitate over-aged college contractual lecturers working in Higher Education Department.
Senior leaders Shabir Ahmad Lango, Vinod Sharma, Khalid Mehmood, Javed Ahmad Akhoon, Rehmatullah Khan, Saleem Sagar, Mohd Shafi Rather and others were also present.
