JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Er Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary and deliberated on the issue of non-issuance of SRO of assured career progression in favour of Engineers even after a lapse of two years despite approval of the same by the then Cabinet of the PDP-BJP Government.
The meet reminded that in pursuant to the Cabinet decision on May 12th 2018, the erstwhile State Government had issued the SRO of Assured Career Progression for Gazetted Services of Police but due to the change of guard in the administration, the SRO in favour of the Engineering services could not get issued even as the Cabinet approval for the same was already accorded along with the case of Police personnel.
“The Seventh Pay Commission by Central Government has already extended the Assured Career Progression to the Central Govt employees and we were hopefully that after the Re-organisation all hurdles will be removed and SRO on ACP shall be issued on priority but nothing was done,” lamented the Association adding that members of the Engineering fraternity from Electrical, Civil , Mechanical have been left with no alternative but to take up agitational path in near future as continuously their role in society has been undermined.
“Due to COVID-19, we have kept a lot of patience and stuck to the task of public service and remained steadfast towards fulfilling our responsibilities towards the public. It is therefore urged to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to kindly intervene and issue necessary instructions to the concerned quarters so that the Assured Career Progression scheme already approved in the erstwhile Cabinet sees the light of day,” said JKEEGA.
The meeting was attended Er Ashok Dubey Vice President ; Er M P Singh, Provincial Secretary; Er Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary; Er Yash Paul, Organising Secretary; Er Parshottam Kumar, Cashier, Er Vipul Sharma and others.
