JAMMU, Feb 2: Kashmiri displaced people living in forceful exodus in camps and non camps in Jammu and other parts of the country for last more than 35 years are facing lot of problems on many fronts and one of the most genuine and grave issue is of enhancement of their meager monthly cash assistance which has not been increased for last many years.
With the result, the migrants solely dependent on monthly cash assistance are facing a lot of hurdles in eking out their livelihood on such meager amount in view of hike in every daily essential commodities.
In a statement issued today, Jammu and Kashmir Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Front president, Vinod Pandita has appealed to Prime Minister, Home Minister of India, Lt. Governor and Chief Minister J&K to personally intervene and get enhanced the meager monthly cash assistance of displaced migrants from Rs thirteen thousand to Rs twenty five thousand forthwith keeping in view the huge increase in the cost of daily essential commodities for sake of justice and equity as the same has not been increased for last many years and it has become difficult for relief holders to maintain their livelihood on such meager amount who are solely dependent on it.
Vishal Jotshi, vice president of the Front appealed for creation and advertisement of new ten thousand posts for the educated displaced unemployed youth in different disciples to tackle unemployment problem among them.
Joyti Dhar, has as well appealed Government of India to formulate a comprehensive and tangible return and rehabilitation policy for resettlement of more than five lakh Kashmiri Pandits migrants back in Valley in a time bound period without further delay.
Others who addressed the meeting were Vinod Bhat , Ashok Kumar Koul, Ashish Kumar, M.K.Koul and Suraj Jotshi.
