JAMMU, Jan 8: Jammu & Kashmir Displaced Kashmiri Pandit Front (JKDKPF) in a meeting here, today expressed grave concern over pilling of problems of Kashmiri migrants residing in Jammu and other parts of country and urged the Government to take effective steps in resolving them.
The Front said It has been generally noticed for last more than three decades that no voice of Kashmiri migrants is being seriously raised, discussed and debated in J&K Assembly to address their genuine aspirations and problems.
President of the Front Vinod Pandita and its vice president, Vishal Jotshi appealed to all the legislators to come forward voluntarily and raise the burning issues of the migrants in the Assembly during coming session like enhancement of meager monthly cash assistance, creation of ten thousand new employment package for educated displaced youth, return & rehabilitation of migrants in Valley and other genuine problems being faced by them on day to today basis.
Both the leaders showed grave concern over stoic silence of authorities over the plight of Avtar Krishan Koul who is sitting on dharna in front of Relief Organisation demanding restoration of his over 60 Kanals of land in Verinag town which has been forcibly encroached by miscreants as well as some Government agencies.
They said it is unfortunate that Government is totally silent on this grave issue. The case of Koul is not an isolated issue but there are hundreds of KPs whose agriculture land and orchards have been encroached by the miscreants in Kashmir and Government has failed to restore it till date.
Both the leaders have appealed to all the legislators to seriously and with one voice act as bridge between Central Government and this hapless displaced community by way of facilitating their return and rehabilitation back in Valley and also get their encroached land restored in Kashmir.
Vinod Bhat , Ashok Kumar Koul, Maharaj Krishan, Pawan Kumar, Suraj Jotshi Dileep Kumar and other members have also participated in the meeting.
