JKCCTU organizes regional conference, projects issues

JAMMU, Aug 12: Third Regional Conference of J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU), was held here which was attended by a large number of delegates including various employees/ teachers of the J&K UT.
The conference was conducted by a presidium comprising of Gurmeet Singh, Dr Shashi Pal Singh and Raj Kumar. A condolence resolution was adopted on the occasion to pay homage to the veteran Trade Union leaders, the Covid pandemic victims and other innocent people.
Mohd Maqbool, National secretary, AISGEF and president JKCCTU while speaking on the occasion highlighted the serious challenges being faced by the down trodden sections of society, working class in general and the Govt employees in particular.
He said the present BJP led Central Govt while pursuing the new-liberal economic and anti-working class privatization policies ruthlessly has made the life of working people miserable and by using the Covid pandemic has implemented draconian measures like privatization and disinvestment in PSUs and Govt departments and anti-people and anti-farm laws which has created strong resentment among the masses. Rising prices of petrol, diesel, LPG and other essentials, unemployment has wrecked havoc in the country. This Govt is harassing the employees and workers on one pretext or the other, he added. ] Dr Shashi Pal, president USTA moved the resolution which was adopted and passed unanimously during the meeting. They opposed privatization/ out-sourcing , disinvestment in PSUs, scrapping of NPS, fill up vacant posts, increase budgetary allocation on education, withdraw Electricity Amendment Bill 2021 and three anti-farmers farm- laws, hold DPC in all departments and ensure implementation of all Labour Laws in J&K.
Gurmeet Singh , general secretary presented the detailed report in the conference and highlighted the achievements of the organization. Several other delegates also spoke on the occasion.
