JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Co-ordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) has expressed it serious anguish and concern over the recent Government decision to constitute a Special Task Force to invoke Article 311 (2) (c) arbitrarily and without enquiry which it said is in gross violation of fundamental and basic democratic rights of employees.
In a joint statement president, JKCCTU, Mohammed Maqbool and its general secretary, Gurmeet Singh made it clear that there are enough provisions in the law and service rules to take action against the Government employees found in anti national activities and there was no need to invoke this Article which the entire trade unions particularly Government employees moment throughout the country has been opposing since long.
They said that the constitution of Special Task Force under the Article is nothing but to muzzle the employees voice and to hide the disastrous effects of the anti working class policies adopted by the ruling class over the years especially during the COVID Pandemic period.
They said the Government has not only failed to address the genuine demands of the working class especially the Government employees but also has snatched away the basic economic and service rights of the employees like freezing of DA, refusing the burning demand of regularization of temporary workers and raising of minimum wages etc which has caused widespread resentment among the lakhs of employees and workers.
The JKCCTU, while condemning the arbitrary decision of the Government called upon all the employees’ trade unions leaders and the working class of J&K to make united resistance against this move.
