JKCCTU discusses action plan to resents ‘draconian’ measures of Govt

JAMMU, Dec 25: JKCCTU Jammu regional committee meeting was held today at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in which office bearers, representatives of affiliated unions took part.
The meeting was presided over by Gurmeet Singh Provincial President and Md Maqbool, State president, attended as special guest. Dr Shashi Pal Singh, Gen Secretary, put up the agenda before the meeting.
Md Maqbool explained the recent `draconian’ measures of the Central Govt like implementation of four labour codes while bypassing the existing 29 labour rights which is the direct onslaught on the labour rights, changing of MGNREGA scheme and putting the burden on States, intension to pass the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025 to privatize the whole power sector and other anti-employee measures. He urged all the leaders and activists to gear up themselves for a bigger struggle.
After discussion, the meeting decided some action plan like convention, joint trade union meetings and also took some organizational decisions.
Later in the afternoon, a delegation of JKCCTU met Education and Health Minister Jammu and Kashmir at Civil Secretariat Jammu and discussed some burning issues, especially alleged victimization of teachers at Kathua district. The Minister Sakeena Ittoo took some immediate steps to resolve the issues.
The meeting was also attended by Bharat Bushan, Surinder Sharma, Ravinder Singh Raina, Ajay Sharma, Sudesh Kumar, Rattan Singh Pathania and others.
