JAMMU, Sept 7: Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) held a meeting here, today regarding delay in payment of salaries to the second phase and third phase VAEAs respectively.
The meeting was addressed by  Surinder Radotra State president of Association. While addressing media, Radotra said that the most of phase second and third phase VAEAs are posted outside their native districts and they have to take rented accommodations while some are travelling in public transports on daily basis to their respective stations for duty.
Radotra said “one can’t understand how these VAEAs  are managing their travels and home expenses as they are without salary for 18 months for Phase 2nd and 5 months for phase 3rd . He stressed upon the Government to release salary of all VAEAs which has not been released for the last 18 months. It is highly deplorable and condemnable when the inflation is sky rocketing and technocrats too are bearing the burnt of price rise  and are running from pillar to post to meet their both ends. They find it difficult to feed their families due to Government apathy. Agriculture technocrats who can change the destiny of the country by bringing a new green revolution are themselves socially and economically downtrodden, he added.
Radotra said Department has started basic data survey (agriculture land census) in all the zones of Jammu divisions and almost every VAEA is working in the field without any stationary provided by respective offices, resulting VAEAs have to spend from their own pockets for the stationary.
He appealed to Minister for Agriculture J&K, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura , Commissioner Secretary APD Sandeep Nayak , Director Finance Civil Secretariat, Srinagar , Director Agriculture Jammu Sudesh Koul to intervene in the matter as this is the issue of the survival for VAEAs.
