SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Jammu Kashmir All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKADCSA) has raised serious concern over the prolonged delay in the promotion of Junior Assistants of the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, Kashmir, who have already qualified the Secretariat Assistants Course (SAC) examination.
In a meeting held with the Chief Engineer Kashmir I&FC, the Federation highlighted multiple issues affecting the clerical cadre. The delegation stressed that despite fulfilling the eligibility criteria nearly six months ago, the qualified Junior Assistants are still awaiting their much-deserved elevation to the post of Senior Assistant. The body said the delay has led to frustration among eligible staff, weakening their morale and impacting work output.
The Federation further pointed out that nearly 40 Senior Assistant posts are lying vacant within the department, despite availability of qualified candidates. It said the continued vacancy of promotional posts was unjustified and creating administrative hurdles.
Urging intervention on priority, the Federation appealed to the Chief Engineer to ensure timely promotion of SAC-qualified Junior Assistants in line with the assurance given during the earlier meeting.
The Association has sought expedited action on the matter in view of the pressing need to fill vacant positions and restore confidence among the workforce.
