JAMMU, May 3: As part of the ongoing Saptahik Rangdhara programme organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Dogri play ‘Aadmite Chuhe’ was staged here today.
Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture, was chief guest on this occasion and he felicitated the performing group with memento in the presence of Padama Shree Balwant Thakur, Sonali Arun Gupta, Additional Secretary, JKAACL and Dr. Javaid Rahi, Divisional Head, JKAACL Jammu for the presentation.
The play, originally written by John Ernst Steinbeck and translated into Dogri by Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, was presented by Hill Thespian Theatre Group.
The play ‘Aadmitey Chuhe’ is a contemporary tale of two migrant field workers, Jaggu and Lori who shared a common dream of owning a piece of land one day.
Artists who performed in the play were Neeraj Sethi, Sunil Sharma, Pradeep Sharma, Javed Gill, Abhay Rajput, Neha Sharma and Aman Sangral.
Jaan Mohd managed the production, Sandeep Verma designed the lighting, Mohit Mehra executed the music and Ankit Sharma provided realistic and functional set design.
Direction and design of the play was done by Sunil Sharma and the proceedings were conducted by Anil Tickoo.
