SRINAGAR, Oct 6: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized a special programme to commemorate the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Dharamgund, Tral (Pulwama) under the guidance of Harvinder Kaur, Secretary, JKAACL.
The programme began with the melodious recitation of Gurbani Shabad Kirtan by Master Avtar Singh and Avtar Singh (Secretary, GSS Dharamgund) and their groups, followed by a soulful presentation. The divine Kirtan filled the atmosphere with spiritual fervour and deep devotion, setting a serene tone for the entire event. Rajinder Singh, president, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Dharamgund, spoke on the life and supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur, highlighting his unparalleled contribution to the protection of faith and human values. A Gurmat Punjabi Kavi Darbar was also held, in which young and talented students from local colleges and Higher Secondary Schools participated enthusiastically.The Kavi Darbar featured notable poets including Principal Ichpal Singh, Sanjeet Singh, Ishmeet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Harvinder Singh, Gursis Kour, Ravneet Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Rohanmeet Singh and others. Hundreds of devotees attended the programme with deep devotion.
Earlier, Popinder Singh Paras, editor, Sheeraza Punjabi, highlighted the initiatives taken by JKAACL to promote the Punjabi language and culture among the youth of Kashmir. He also spoke on the spiritual and historical importance of both the Prakash Purab of Guru Granth Sahib and the Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Avtar Singh, secretary, Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Dharamgund, conducted the proceedings, while Rajinder Singh, president, presented the vote of thanks. Trilok Singh Bali from JKAACL assisted in the smooth conduct of the programme.
