JAMMU, Apr 5: A general body meeting of the Provincial Body of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) Jammu Provincial Employees Association was held here today, under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, state president of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Joint Action Committee (R).
The meeting was also attended by senior trade union leaders including Girdhari Lal Chanda, Pawan Kumar and Ramesh Kumar Sharma.
During the meeting, the Jammu Division body of the Employees Association was formally constituted. Ramesh Singh was elected as president of the newly formed body.
Other office bearers elected include Lokesh Chander and Deepika Abrol as vice presidents, Mansoor Ali as General Secretary, Joginder Bral as Secretary, Anil Tickoo as Advisor, Safder Rasheed as Chief Advisor, Rakesh Koul as Coordinator, Ram Raj as Chief Organiser, Sunil Sharma as Joint Secretary, Vipan Sharma as Treasurer, while Daljeet Singh and Amjad Khan were elected as members.
Speaking on the occasion, president Ramesh Singh expressed full support and solidarity with the leadership of Babu Hussain Malik and urged all newly elected members to work with honesty and dedication for the welfare of employees and redressal of their grievances.
He also appealed to the Union Territory Government to address long-pending demands of employees, including immediate holding of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs), restoration of the old pension scheme, expediting the process of filling vacant posts in various departments, enhancement of medical allowance at par with other Union Territories and removal of pay anomalies in the clerical cadre and other categories.
