AHMEDABAD, Aug 3: Jammu & Kashmir Tourism made a resounding impact at the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad, held at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar from 31st July to 2nd August.
With participation from over 900 exhibitors and representation from across the country, the event emerged as a leading B2B travel and tourism platform ahead of the festive and winter travel season.
The three-day TTF Ahmedabad was inaugurated on 31st July by the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah. More than 70 tourism stakeholders from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir including Katra, Bhaderwah, Jammu, Patnitop, Pahalgam, Srinagar and Gulmarg participated in the fair. Their meaningful B2B engagements with national and international travel operators helped expand market access and strengthen industry partnerships.
Speaking to the media at the event, Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu, highlighted the significant transformation in Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism sector, driven by focused efforts on infrastructure development, ease of travel and tourist safety. He underscored the growing appeal of the region across segments like adventure, leisure, pilgrimage, MICE, golf and eco-tourism.
He urged the travel trade fraternity to collaborate with J&K Tourism in curating innovative travel packages, particularly around destinations such as Bangus, Gurez, Padder and Bani-Basholi, Akhnoor, Pancheri which offer immense potential and community benefits. He also encouraged tourists to experience the timeless charm of Gulmarg, Bhaderwah, Pahalgam, Katra and Patnitop known for their natural beauty and warm hospitality.
Raja Yaqoob, Director Tourism Kashmir, reiterated the department’s focus on sustainable and diversified tourism. He emphasized Jammu and Kashmir’s year-round appeal and noted ongoing efforts to promote adventure and experiential tourism, while preserving the region’s ecological and cultural integrity.
The J&K Tourism Pavilion emerged as one of the star attractions at TTF Ahmedabad. With its captivating design and immersive displays showcasing the region’s landscapes, offbeat trails, pilgrimage circuits, adventure options, film tourism prospects, and traditional crafts and cuisine, the pavilion drew an exceptional response from both travel professionals and general visitors.
In recognition of the pavilion’s creative design and the highest visitor footfall at the venue, the J&K Pavilion was awarded the Award of Excellence. The award was received by Vikas Gupta, Director Tourism Jammu.
Shreya Singhal, Managing Director, JKTDC, and other officers of the J&K Tourism Department also attended the event.
