JAMMU, Feb 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners United Front (J&K PUF) has demanded a hike in the medical allowance for the J&K Government employees, pensioners and family pensioners.
In a statement, the Front’s Jammu division spokesperson Ashok Kumar Koul (Lalpuri) claimed that the employees, pensioners, and family pensioners in Jammu and Kashmir are being paid a meagre amount of Rs 300 as Medical Allowance as against Rs 1000 being paid to the employees and pensioners in the UT of Ladakh.
He said with doctors charging heavy amounts for consultation, managing treatment with Rs 300 is not possible.
As such, he requested LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to raise the Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners of the UT at par with the Ladakh counterparts.
