JAMMU, Oct 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the Armed Police and the Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), will organise the annual Diwali Mela at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, on October 14.

Addressing media persons in this regard, DIG Armed Jammu Sameer Sharma said the event, to be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, will feature a range of attractions for the people of Jammu region.
These include awareness programmes, shopping and food stalls, career counselling and educational stalls for children, a magic show, laser show, band display, and fireworks.
Sharma said the mela will also pay tribute to police martyrs, honouring their sacrifice and service.
Around 10,000 people are expected to attend the event, he said.
The police officer invited the public to participate and make the celebration a grand success.
Several senior police officers, including DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, Commandant IR 15th Battalion Sargun Shukla, SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, and SP South Ajay Sharma among other police officers were present during the briefing.
