SAMBA, Nov 20: J&K Police pensioners (Non-Gazetted) held strong protest demonstration in support of their demands at Vijaypur today.
A large number of retired policemen under the banner of J&K Police (Non-Gazetted) Pensioners Welfare Association led by Ajit Singh (chairman) assembled at Vijaypur town in district Samba today and started protest demonstration. They were demanding removal of pay anomaly, enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month, implementation of 7th Pay Commission report, cashless health care policy for the retired policemen, 15 % quota for the wards of the policemen for job in the department and sanctioning of at least Rs 50,000 to the family in case of death of retired Police personnel for performing last rites.
They further demanded that in case a police man attains martyrdom, his family should be provided at least rupees one crore. It was also pointed out that no welfare facility is available for the NGOs either at Jammu or Srinagar, where as for Gazetted Officers the mess is available both at Srinagar and Jammu. The NGOs welfare deduction is much more than the GOs then why they are deprived of the such facility. This is great injustice to them.
Ajit Singh, chairman and district president Samba Raghubir Singh pointed out that in Govt order No. 229-F of 2014 dated 17-10-2014 pay anomaly was removed but the matter remained pending before Pay Anomaly Committee. Finance Deptt sought clarification from DGP regarding pay anomalies of retiree ASIs and Head Constables. The GDP office communicated on Feb 17, 2016 about the pending amount of Rs 5.93 crore but that amount was not paid till date.
District president of the Association for Kathua Sat Paul Sharma, other members Balwant Singh, Mohd Sharief, Ashok Kumar, Krishan Singh, Jagdish Raj, Sandal Singh and Devi Dass were also present and addressed the gathering.
