JAMMU, Oct 3: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games Association was held, here today with enthusiasm and a strong sense of purpose. The meeting brought together senior sports leaders and officials to strengthen the sporting ecosystem across the Union Territory.
The session was presided over by Ranjit Singh Chib, (Retd SSP) and President of the Association. Chib delivered an inspiring address, stating that “sports is not merely about winning medals-it is about discipline, dedication and determination.” He urged the people of Jammu & Kashmir to step forward with passion and commitment.
Neete Kour, General Secretary of the Association and recent captain of the Indian women’s handball team at the 2025 World Masters Games in Taipei, also addressed the gathering. She emphasized the importance of self-belief and nurturing local talent.
Key discussions included organizing the upcoming J&K Masters Games, boosting grassroots participation, encouraging senior athletes, and creating opportunities for youth to compete at national and international levels. A major decision was taken to host the Second J&K Masters Games from November 5 to 9 in Jammu.
The meeting was attended by a host of active members including Romesh Sharma, Kuljeet Singh, Sanjay Puri, Prabal Sharma, Rameshwar Singh Manhas, Rajesh Sumbria, Mamata Bajaj, David Sandhu, Rajiv Sharma, Dayal Singh, Anil Abrol, Prithpal Singh, Shivinder Bhan, Amrik Singh and Raman Kumar.
