While appreciating the inclusion of the Jatts and extending them OBC status benefits in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jatt Sabha held a threadbare discussion in RS Pura in a meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Manjit Singh, as president of the Sabha, During deliberations, the Jatt Sabha members came to the conclusion that the J&K level jobs in the Govt Sector for the Jatts, who have now been given the benefits of OBC, will not be much beneficial because of lack of adequate opportunities.
“We have very few opportunities for the unemployed and educated youth in J&K. The Central Govt shall acknowledge the contribution, and sacrifices made by the Jatts, who largely live along the International Border (IB), and Line of Control (LoC),” Manjit Singh said.
The meeting resolved that the Central Govt should look into the ground realities and work for the benefits of the marginalized section of society that faced neglect for seven decades.
“The facts should be considered by extending OBC status benefits to the community in Central Govt jobs across the country so that the nationalist youth shall get the employment, and work in the nation building at the right direction,” Manjit Singh said.
