SRINAGAR: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said after facing defeat in face-to-face battles, Pakistan is now engaging in a proxy war to occupy Jammu and Kashmir which is an integral part of the country.
Meanwhile, Mr Parrikar appealed to the misguided youth of the State to give up the path of violence and contribute in nation building process. ”Pakistan is waging a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir but Indian troops will give a befitting reply to the neighbouring country,” Mr Parrikar who was here on a two-day visit said at a function here. He said Pakistan has been trying to occupy Jammu and Kashmir by proxy war, but ”the neighbouring country will never succeed.”
The Defence Ministry in Pakistan is also targeting not only J&K but other parts of the country. He said, ”Pakistan is now trying to mislead its own people and also the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Let us renew the pledge to give fitting reply to the proxy war and end terrorism in J&K.” (AGENCIES)
