JAMMU, Jan 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Industries Pensioners Welfare Association members called on Chief Secretary of JKUT Atal Dulloo in his office chamber last evening.
Led by senior members Ghulam Nabi Bhat Khaniyari and L. Kundu (chief patron), the delegation of the senior citizens/pensioners submitted a memorandum with charter of demands to the Chief Secretary seking his immediate intervention.
During discussion with the Chief Secretary, the delegation demanded to release pay arrears/ Gratuity/ leave salary/ GP Fund etc of the retirees. They said the retirees are facing mental agony, various ailments and many of them have to repair/construct their houses and also utilize money for the marriage of their wards.
They also requested the Chief Secretary to conduct review meeting of the concerned authorities and ensure the release of pending pay arrears of the retirees.
The Chief Secretary assured the pensioners delegation to take appropriate action in this regard. Senior member Nissar Ahmed and several others also joined the delegation.
