JAMMU, Sept 11: The J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu (J&K HCBAJ) has appealed to all ten Deputy Commissioners of Jammu province to extend support and cooperation to advocates engaged in ongoing flood relief and rehabilitation work.
The Association said that lawyers across the province have been actively reaching out to affected communities, but their efforts are being hampered by difficulties in gaining timely access to district offices due to restrictions and the overwhelming situation on the ground.
The Association further pointed out that many advocates themselves have also suffered losses in the floods, making it crucial that they are given a fair hearing when approaching District Administrations with their grievances.
Stressing that the legal fraternity is committed to working alongside local authorities, the Association expressed confidence that Deputy Commissioners would acknowledge its concerns and facilitate smoother coordination, enabling lawyers to play a more effective role in providing timely relief and redressal to affected people.
