J&K Finance Dept Clarifies Charge Allowance Rules

JAMMU, Mar 28: The Finance Department has issued a clarification on grant of charge allowance for Government servants holding additional charge of another post under the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Regulations (CSR), 1956.
It stated that allowance will be admissible only when an employee is assigned full duties and responsibilities of an identical or equivalent post, while no payment will be made if only routine duties are assigned.
The department fixed the allowance at one-tenth of the minimum pay of the post in the pre-revised Sixth Pay Commission scale and said it will not apply in cases where the charge is held for less than 40 days, involves a lower post, or is retained after transfer.
Authorities have been directed to clearly specify the nature of duties while issuing such orders to avoid ambiguity.
