J&K crushes mighty Mumbai

JAMMU, Dec 10: Riding on a superb display of batting by promising youngster Shubham Khajuria, coupled with outstanding bowling show by speedsters Ramdyal Punia and Omar Nazir, the Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy team crushed the strong team of Mumbai by 4 wickets in Ranji Trophy Group A opener at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Talented opening batsman, Shubham Khajuria bagged the man of the match award for his outstanding contribution of superb ton in the first innings and awesome 78 runs in the second essay.
Ramdayal Punia and Omar Nazir were the other two major contributors in the match. Ramdayal took 8 wickets in the match with 3 in the first innings and 5 in the second, while young speedster Omar Nazir bagged 5 important wickets in the match to help the winning cause.
The contributions from Hardeep Singh (41*), skipper Parvez Rasool (32) and gutsy Ian Dev Singh (30) can not be ruled out as they played their part in the teams victory.
