JAMMU, July 11: A deputation of Congress workers from J&K led by former MP, Janak Raj Gupta met the Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Oscar Fernandes, who was recently inducted to Union Cabinet.
The deputation during meeting with Azad requested him to take interest in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir as the elections were drawing nearer. They also offered invitation to Mr Fernandes to the Jammu and Kashmir. The Ex-MP urged the Union Health Minister to provide free treatment to the poor patients of the State in the super-specialty and also to the women and new born children belonging to the poor class.
The deputation also discussed the affairs related to the development of the State with Mr Azad. They lauded the historical development witnessed in all the regions of the State during the tenure of Mr Azad as Chief Minister. Mr Azad and Fernandes accepted their invitation and assured them to pay visit to the State shortly.
Prominent among those who accompanied Mr Gupta included – S. Kirten Singh, senior vice president District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban), Camres David president All India Massih Seva Dal J&K, Parshotam Mehra- general secretary DCC Jammu, Deedar Singh general secretary DCC, Baljeet Manhas, Nischal Seva Dal Jammu, M K Koul-JKTUC, Rinku Gill, Varinder Mahajan, Ved Parkash Bhagat and Sunil Kumar .
