SRINAGAR, Dec 23: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has provided major relief to 38 bereaved families by ensuring the quick settlement of insurance claims worth Rs 1.94 crore under its MetLoan & Life Suraksha (MLLS) scheme.
A statement said the claims related to deceased borrowers from the Bank’s Anantnag Zone and have helped families overcome financial hardship during a difficult time.
A brief ceremony was held to mark the settlement, during which a symbolic cheque was displayed by Zonal Head Anantnag Khavar Mehraj Handoo along with PNB MetLife’s Associate Director and Head, Irfan Ali Zargar.
Several senior officials from J&K Bank and PNB MetLife were present, including cluster heads, branch heads, credit officers and insurance coordinators.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to J&K Bank and its insurance partner for timely support.
One claimant said the prompt settlement lifted a major financial burden and provided much-needed relief to the family during a challenging period.
Speaking on the occasion, Zonal Head Anantnag Khavar Mehraj Handoo stressed the importance of loan insurance.
He said insured loans protect families from financial liabilities in unforeseen situations and help ensure peace of mind for borrowers and their loved ones.
PNB MetLife’s Associate Director Irfan Ali Zargar said the company remains committed to honoring the trust of customers.
He noted that insurance is about standing by families when they need support the most and delivering on promises made.
