J&K Bank marks Navratra with special counter at SMVD Bhawan, entrepreneurship drive

JAMMU, Sept 22: On the auspicious occasion of Navratra, J&K Bank reinforced its dual commitment to serving both pilgrims and youth by organizing two major initiatives – setting up special cash counter at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD) Bhawan and organizing “Yuva Udyami Day – Weekly Login Day” at its Zonal Office in Jammu.
At SMVD Bhawan, the Bank established a special counter at its Business Unit to provide fresh cash and note exchange facilities for devotees. The counter was jointly inaugurated by CEO of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Sachin Kumar Vaishya and the Bank’s Divisional Head (General Manager) Ashok Gupta, in the presence of SDM Bhawan Anshumali Sharma, Tehsildar Mukesh Thappa, Deputy SP Munish Kumar, Zonal Head Udhampur Lalit Prakash, Shrine Board officials and a large gathering of devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO SMVDSB stated, “By setting up this special counter, the Bank has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing seamless and world-class banking facilities to the Shrine Board, its employees, and lakhs of devotees who visit the holy shrine.”
Ashok Gupta assured best-in-class services, adding that the Bank, with three branches and nine ATMs from Katra to Bhawan, remains fully dedicated to facilitating pilgrims and the Shrine Board. A pooja ceremony marked the inauguration on the first Navratra.
Meanwhile, in Jammu, the Bank celebrated the auspicious day by organizing “Yuva Udyami Day – Weekly Login Day” at its Zonal Office, Rail Head Complex, in collaboration with the Department of Employment, J&K Government. The event was chaired by Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar, who emphasized that just as Navratri symbolizes new energy and beginnings, the sanctioning of loans to young entrepreneurs marked the start of many new journeys of growth and self-reliance.
Guest of honour, Sunaina Saini, Deputy Director Employment, lauded the Bank’s proactive role under ‘Mission Yuva’, encouraging youth to take full advantage of Government-sponsored self-employment schemes. On the occasion, 80 sanction letters were handed over to aspiring entrepreneurs.
