SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Jammu & Kashmir Bank today commissioned two new ATMs in Kulgam district at Aharbal and Chowgam to enhance customer convenience and strengthen access to digital banking services.
The ATMs were inaugurated by Zonal Head (Anantnag) Khawar Meraj Handoo in the presence of customers, bank officials, public representatives, and local residents.
Speaking on the occasion, Handoo reiterated the Bank’s commitment to leveraging technology for improving customer experience and promoting financial inclusion.
He encouraged people to make greater use of digital platforms such as ATMs, mobile banking, and internet banking for secure and hassle-free transactions.
He said the installation of ATMs at Aharbal, a well-known tourist destination, and Chowgam will not only benefit local residents but also provide much-needed banking access to tourists visiting the area.
“The initiative is expected to reduce dependence on physical bank branches and ensure round-the-clock availability of cash and other essential banking services,” he said.
With the addition of these two machines, the total number of ATMs in Kulgam district has reached 35, while the number in the Anantnag zone has risen to 126.
Locals and customers present on the occasion appreciated the Bank’s efforts, stating that such steps go a long way in strengthening financial infrastructure and supporting the socio-economic development of the region.
