SRINAGAR, Sept 24: J&K Bank, under the J&K Government’s flagship initiative Mission YUVA, today organised a special “Roz-e-YUVA” login day event in Srinagar to promote youth empowerment through entrepreneurship and self-employment.
The event connected aspiring entrepreneurs with credit opportunities and witnessed the formal distribution of fresh sanction letters to beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, chaired the function along with the Bank’s Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, ADC Srinagar Rifat Aftab Qureshi, and Zonal Head (Srinagar) Layek Ahmad Jan.
At the event, 30 sanction letters were handed over to young beneficiaries for setting up different self-employment units.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner praised J&K Bank for its proactive role in extending timely credit support and emphasised that Mission YUVA was a crucial step in addressing unemployment by creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
He informed that Srinagar district leads the programme with over 780 cases sanctioned so far and urged stakeholders to expedite disposal of pending cases so that maximum youth can benefit at the earliest.
The DC assured full support from the district administration along with J&K Bank in helping aspiring entrepreneurs take bold steps towards shaping their future and contributing to economic growth in the region.
J&K Bank’s Chief General Manager (Operations), Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, said the Bank was privileged to support youth in transforming their ideas into viable enterprises.
He assured that every eligible entrepreneur would get hassle-free assistance and urged beneficiaries to use funds properly to establish sustainable ventures.
Mission YUVA, launched earlier this year with the aim of creating 1.37 lakh enterprises and generating 4.25 lakh jobs over the next five years, is powered by J&K Bank’s Yuva Udaan campaign.
The programme seeks to build a self-reliant economy in Jammu and Kashmir by fostering youth-led entrepreneurship.
