SRINAGAR, July 22: J&K Bank today organized “Udyami YUVA Day” at its Zonal Office Jammu and “Roz-e-Yuva” at Zonal Office Baramulla under the J&K Government’s Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan) to encourage self-employment among youth.
As per a statement, the sanctioned cases under the scheme (Mission YUVA) have now crossed the 1000-mark.
Executive Director of the bank, Sudhir Gupta chaired the Jammu event, attended by ACR Jammu Rajesh Kumar, GM & Divisional Head Sunit Kumar, Zonal Head Rajesh Dubey, Deputy Director Employment Sunaina Saini, besides senior officials.
At Baramulla, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa was the chief guest, joined by Zonal Head Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, Additional DC Sopore S A Raina, DGM Tanveer Ahmad Najar, Assistant Director Employment Rahil Amin, LDM Manzoor Ahmad and others.
During the events, 73 sanction letters were handed over to Mission YUVA beneficiaries while young entrepreneurs in Jammu also received commercial vehicle keys.
Speaking at Jammu, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta said, “Our youth are full of ideas and energy, and Mission YUVA provides the perfect platform to transform those ideas into enterprises. At J&K Bank, we believe that empowering youth through entrepreneurship is key to creating a sustainable economic ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.”
He urged the teams to fast-track cases to ensure maximum youth benefit.
GM Sunit Kumar said, “Mission YUVA is not just a scheme but a powerful movement to shape a generation of job creators in J&K.”
ACR Jammu and Deputy Director Employment appreciated the joint efforts, saying, “It is heartening to see events like ‘Udyami YUVA Day’ providing both financial support and confidence to youth.”
At Baramulla, DC Minga Sherpa stressed the importance of coordinated efforts to address unemployment through entrepreneurship.
Zonal Head Imtiyaz Bhat said Mission YUVA will channel youth potential towards regional prosperity.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely support and encouragement from the Bank and Government.
