J&K Bank holds financial education program

SRINAGAR, Dec 9: In order to provide basic knowledge of banking to the people in far off places, J&K Bank conducted various financial literacy camps across Budgam district during last few weeks. Besides, the bank organized a financial education camp at the SKIMS’ 32nd annual day where visitors were apprised about the products and services of the bank tailored for every section of the society.
The financial literacy camps were organized in Beerwah, Nasarpora in Khaag, Kanidajan in Nagam and at the bank’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) Budgam.
Speaking to a large gathering at Girls Higher Secondary School Beerwah, Cluster Head Budgam M A Wanchoo urged the audience to open accounts with the bank so as to avail the benefits of PMJDY scheme and assured them of total possible support from the bank. He stressed upon the Business Correspondents operating in the area to achieve the targets set under the scheme within the given time frame.
The LDM Budgam Shahzad Hussain asked for the involvement of all VLWs, Sarpanchs and Gram-Panchayats in the process so that the neglected people of the area who have not so far opened their accounts can also avail the benefits of the scheme.
Meanwhile, a team from the bank’s Marketing Division Kashmir (Central), conducted a financial education camp at the 32nd Annual Day of Sher I Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) and promoted various products and services of the bank.
Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, was the chief guest on the occasion and the function was attended by Director SKIMS Dr Showkat A Zargar, faculty members and students.
