J&K Bank holds credit awareness workshop for FPOs

JAMMU, Aug 1: J&K Bank today organised a credit awareness workshop for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in Jammu to strengthen the agricultural sector and boost financial literacy among farmer collectives.
The workshop was chaired by NABARD General Manager Vikas Mittal, with the presence of Mission Director JKRLM Shubra Sharma, J&K Bank’s General Managers Rakesh Magotra and Ashok Gupta, among other senior officers.
Representatives from various FPOs promoted by Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Mittal said that FPOs play a key role in turning agriculture into a profitable venture and welcomed J&K Bank’s efforts to improve credit awareness.
Shubra Sharma highlighted JKRLM’s efforts in promoting rural development and financial inclusion for women and small farmers.
J&K Bank GM Rakesh Magotra emphasised the Bank’s commitment to empowering FPOs through timely credit support and market integration.
Divisional Head Ashok Gupta reiterated the Bank’s focus on bridging the gap between institutional credit and grassroots entrepreneurship through such initiatives.
During the interactive session, FPO representatives appreciated the Bank’s outreach and thanked the management for educating them about credit schemes and documentation.
The workshop was part of J&K Bank’s broader push to promote inclusive economic growth in the region.
