JAMMU, May 13: Succumbing to the protests against discrimination with Jammu in cut off marks in Prelims of Probationary Officers (POs), Jammu and Kashmir Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmed today announced that all those candidate having assessment score of 40 and above will be eligible to appear in the Mains.
“Good luck aspirants, stay tuned for rescheduled date after arranging logistics,” Parvez said in a tweet.
Describing the decision as good news for PO aspirants, the J&K Bank Chairman said the decision to declare uniform cut off of 40 percent across the State in relaxation of policy was taken in view of various representations received from candidates and also on the directions of Governor Satya Pal Malik.
Welcoming the decision, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh tweeted: “In response to popular feedback, the matter was discussed in detail and the Governor deserves appreciation for his positive response”.
Earlier, Dr Jitendra Singh also spoke to Governor Satya Pal Malik over cut off marks in the exams and sought his intervention to correct the things.
“Jammu and Kashmir Bank will review its recruitment procedure and devise a methodology to the satisfaction of the young aspiring candidates,” Dr Jitendra Singh said.
It may be mentioned here that several organizations and political parties had criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Bank for keeping very high cut off level for Jammu as compared to Kashmir districts, prompting the Bank to change its decision.
