SRINAGAR, Jan 13: J&K Bank today celebrated the festival of Lohri with traditional fervour and festive spirit at its Jammu Zonal Office, reflecting the institution’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage and promoting togetherness among employees.
The celebrations were led by Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee in the presence of Chief General Manager Sunit Kumar, General Manager Narjay Gupta, General Manager and Divisional Head Jammu Ashok Gupta, Zonal Head Jammu Aneeta Nehru, Deputy General Managers, senior officers and staff members.
As part of the celebrations, a customary bonfire was lit within the office premises, symbolising gratitude for the harvest season, hope for prosperity and the beginning of a new phase.
Addressing the gathering, the MD and CEO Amitava Chatterjee said that festivals like Lohri highlight the values of gratitude, optimism and unity that are deeply rooted in the region’s culture.
He added that such occasions help strengthen bonds within the organisation and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
The event was further marked by the distribution of traditional Lohri delicacies, including peanuts and popcorn, adding warmth and colour to the celebrations.
Celebrated at the end of winter, Lohri marks the sun’s northward movement and the onset of longer days.
The celebration created a cheerful atmosphere at the office, reinforcing J&K Bank’s ethos of unity and shared cultural values among its employees.
