SRINAGAR, Aug 2: J&K Bank has received a prestigious award from the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) for securing the highest number of guarantees under the CGTMSE scheme during the financial year 2024-25.
As per a statement, the award was presented under the category of North Eastern Region, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh during CGTMSE’s Silver Jubilee celebrations held in Mumbai.
“The event recognised top-performing Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for their contributions to MSME financing and credit innovation,” the statement said.
It said General Manager (CBO) Tariq Ali, Zonal Head (Mumbai) Riyaz Ahmad Wani, and Nodal Officer (CGTMSE) Aftab Ahmed Shalla received the award from SIDBI’s DMD Prakash Kumar and CGTMSE CEO Manish Sinha in the presence of senior officials from banks and financial institutions.
Appreciating the recognition, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said, “This award strengthens our resolve to expand support for MSMEs through wider coverage under the CGTMSE scheme. Going forward, the Bank remains fully committed to deepening credit outreach, empowering entrepreneurs, and contributing meaningfully to the country’s MSME growth journey as envisaged by the Union Government.”
General Manager Tariq Ali expressed gratitude to CGTMSE for the recognition and highlighted the bank’s continued focus on inclusive growth and collateral-free lending to small businesses.
