JAMMU, Dec 24: Jammu & Kashmir Bank has won the “Best MSME Bank – Winner” award at the MSME Banking Excellence Awards 2025.
The Bank also secured the runner-up position in the “CSR Initiative & Business Responsibility” category.
The awards were presented by Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
The honours were received on behalf of the Bank by Chief General Manager Business Development, Sunit Kumar and GM/Divisional Head ROI, Khursheed Muzaffar.
Expressing happiness over the achievement, MD & CEO of the Bank, Amitava Chatterjee said, “The recognition reflects the Bank’s strong focus on the MSME sector and its commitment to social responsibility.”
He thanked the organisers and jury and praised the efforts of the Bank’s MSME and CSR teams for their dedicated work on the ground.
Chatterjee said MSME financing remains a strategic priority for J&K Bank.
He highlighted that the Bank is exclusively implementing the UT Government’s flagship Mission YUVA programme, which aims to create 1.37 lakh enterprises over the next five years and generate employment for 4.25 lakh youth.
He added that the Bank continues to support entrepreneurs through customised financial products, simplified procedures, digital solutions and continuous handholding, particularly in its core areas, while expanding its MSME presence across the country.
On CSR initiatives, the MD & CEO said the Bank’s efforts are aligned with national development goals, with focus on education, healthcare, environment protection, skill development and livelihood generation, ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth.
The awards were organised by the Chamber of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, with the jury chaired by former Supreme Court Judge Justice Deepak Verma. The evaluation was conducted by CareEdge Ratings, the knowledge partner for the awards.
