JAMMU, June 18: Representing Jammu and Kashmir State, the students of Government Degree College Doda bagged second prize in group song and poetry at National Integration Awareness Programme, organized by the 7 Odisha Bn NCC Cuttak, under the aegis of Defence Ministry, Government of India at Bhubnaeshwar.
The students who claimed first place in group song included Pankaj Sharma, Shakti Jaral, Amit Kumar, Pooja Rana, Neeraj Padha, Susheela Devi, Akashdeep Singh, Jyoti Devi, Manish Dogra and Poonam Sevi, while Mukesh Parihar bagged 2nd place in poetry competition.
Meanwhile, Major Paramjeet Singh, who accompanied the students was awarded the trophy of best assistant NCC Officer by the Governor of Odisha.
Social activists Abid Pampori and Koushal Sharma have congratulated the students for bringing laurels to the State.
Others who were part of the tour included Sanjeep Sharma, Amir John, Sudhir Katoch, Ripen Singh, Manmohan Singh, Narinder Singh, Omkar Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Umair Ullah and Sandesh Kumar.
